WINNIPEG — Mechanical issues forced a Calgary-bound Air Canada flight to divert to Winnipeg Wednesday morning, the Winnipeg Airports Authority (WAA) says.
The pilot of Air Canada Flight 119 elected to divert to Winnipeg after becoming aware of "hydraulic issues" with the Airbus A-319 aircraft at some point after leaving Toronto, WAA spokeswoman Christine Alongi said.
The flight, carrying an unconfirmed 123 passengers, landed without incident in Winnipeg at 12:06 p.m., Alongi said, adding there were no reports of injuries.
Passengers are being rebooked on other flights as the airline inspects the aircraft.
On Monday, a Toronto-to-Japan Air Canada flight had to return to Toronto after an engine shut down. The Boeing 777, carrying 318 passengers, dropped debris from the engine onto cars parked on the ground.
